JMD: here is a real hoot. From a report on the G* launch failure: "All these years, we were developing, designing and manufacturing ballistic rockets for intercontinental flights which could carry nuclear warheads," Yuri Smetanin, the chief design engineer of the Zenit rocket, said yesterday before the launch. Smetanin was said to have collapsed after he heard the news, but was on medication and feeling better yesterday." Geez do you think the realization came over him that if they had launched their nucs they might have dropped them all over Russian territory! or... was he distraught over the fact he had some loans from some unsavory characters who now desire their money back and may take it out of his hide?
