Yes, I know the market would decline, I was actually asking for the deeper reasons why it would happen.

I have yet to understand the rationale of the Market going down on political news of impeachement/Keneedy assasination type. However unfortunate those episodes are, they should have little effect on the market of a country with solid institutions. Now, if Yeltsin or Suharto resigns, I can see why the Russian or Indonesian market would move.
