Anthony and thread,

Per James J. Cramer today:

fnews.yahoo.com

..Finally, there is Intel (Nasdaq:INTC - news) , which must have anguished over this preannouncement -- certainly anguished because Jeff Berkowitz, my partner, saw them yesterday morning and they were mum on this good news -- but finally could not hold back, probably because Intel buys its stock back so aggressively that it would be unfair to the marketplace not to disclose the revenue strength..

..Random musings: A word about Intel. For weeks, I have been saying I like tech because of the strength of the personal computer. But even I am blown away by how strong the domestic market in personal computers is. I want to ask you people out there something: How many PCs do you have in your home? How many are Pentium II or better? Email letters@thestreet.com with your answers. I am out of the closet -- we have five: one each for my children, one for my wife and two (lap and
desk) for me. We have them because I couldn't get on otherwise to do the writing I wanted to do and because my wife got fed up waiting herself! It's that kind of buying that's doing it. And the wonder of online, too.
