I am concerned that NT is now underperforming the techs in general and LU/CSCO in particular the last few days. I understand that ASND and COMS are moving up on rumors about buyouts(Intel and Cisco and Lucent are mentioned), but LU and CSC0 are holding/slightly up at Noon, and other networkers(FORE, NN, etc) are up too. NT fell yesterday and for no apparant reason is down again today. This does not feel like a market impact; for some reason it is company-specific.

Is there fear that if the rumors of LU or other big player buying ASND or COMS are true, it will have major impact on NT? I thought that was old news already assumed by the market.

Is anyone hearing rumblings that this current qtr is going to come in "light" vs. estimates? Someone else posted a story about NT being hurt in Brazil. If true, how big could that be?

I have been buying a little more on the way down this week, but I am now wishing I had bailed on Tuesday at $54!! If we don't see a recovery by the end of the day, I don't feel real good about Monday after the impact of the Star report hits this weekend. If the details lead the mkt to believe that Clinton may be impeached, the uncertainty will not help NT. And even if earnings this qtr are good, without a company notice to that effect, the official release of numbers in Oct 20th(est) will seem like a lifetime away given the current freefall.
