Regarding ... The dude in the Totally Wireless store mentioned that even though Sprint was the cheapie @ ten cents/minute, you got banged up to like 49 cents if you 'roamed' out of Sprint territory as a result of the phone switching over to an alien network. What happens? Does a little taxi meter like thingie come on your LCD and warn you that your call cost just quadrupled?

With your Qualcomm QCP-2700 dual band handset, in about 15 seconds, you can use the "jog dial" to navigate around "inside" the handset and re-set things to "analog never."

Then, you will either be having cheap (PCS) talk minutes, or no talk.

Jon.

The Starr report, verbatim, just hit the CNN web site.

Has been impossible to get at the three gov't sites that were published. (Though I got in several times, they still weren't showing it.)

Sorry, haven't digested it in the last 20secs. <g>

Doug

When you go into roaming a little R appears on your display. As someone else said you can turn all roaming off.

I was in Sprint PCS store in Dallas today. Learned two things.

First, I was told that the Samsung phone has a better connection rate than the Qualcomm or Sony phones. (I got another software upgrade for my Q phone.)

The price for minutes over the freebies in the plans are in the neighborhood of 20 cents plus, which was news to me that it was that high.
