Oh, heavens. Just read back a few days. TLAB (which I don't own) has gotten itself pounded on this incredibly soured merger from Hades. I don't see how TLAB can do anything but fly long term. I'm on the CIEN side of this Maalox monster. It will fly if it merges with CIEN, and it will bubble up if it tanks the deal and somehow CIEN gets barbecued to cinders.

TLAB is real strong. It may dip from here, but it's near its bottom. Near enough. chuzzy is righty. If y'all ask me.

To jhg- I used $2 net earnings per share times ave. 35 PE to get target of $70 in 1999. My forecast is co. specific. CFO at Tellab's got ill and is undergoing treatment. The historical rate of growth of net earnings per share is around 48-52% for Tellab's. Go back and read the last 100 posts and also the Yahoo string to gain background. Look at Tellab's web site and Ciena's. Goto stock research site on Tellab's found at wysiwyg://18http://www.stockstuff.com/search/db?symbol=TLAB for more complete info.
Look at a 5 year chart of Tellab's to get a feel of the growth of this puppy.
It's well known that Tellab's had one of the best growth rates of stock price over the last 5 years. IMHO this recent confusion presents a great buying opportunity, esp. for a long term holder, say 3-5 years.

jhg, Dave Dickerson is the man. Heed what he has to say -- except in politics <VBG>. Dave has done a yeoman's job in compiling TLAB data and information, and synopsizing it. When Dave talks this thread listens.
