FWIW, I have been buying a few stocks recently (100% in cash is too cassandra, even for me). A few drillers (mostly SLB) some pfizer, oxhp, and even a little MTSN. AND I got back into MOFN. But not AMAT.... just keep asking myself, do I think it could fall 50% from here (in other words, further than is acceptable to me) and coming up with the answer that, if the overall market finds reality, given that the prospects for the semi-equips are more bleak than 95-96, $12 would be a pretty achievable price for a company with no profits, no visability, and declining revs..

Richard,
I will be $ cost averaging in below $22 as I have stated for several months now. My initial buy in is somewhere close/below $22, and lower.

Richard, you said >it is possible to be greedy to the downside
too.

Sure is. I myself have lowered my buy target several times since
spring and haven't bought yet. I do hold some AMAT I bought higher, though.

The bad thing about this global economy is that there
is another new crisis every day. And if there isn't one
I worry why "they" are keeping the info from us or, that
I should read more foreign papers online.<g>

In the good old days there were some world events
that simply didn't concern me. Even some domestic
ones, like the president's private life.
