BB: Good luck, just don't let Uncle Sugar take away all your future gains via taxes. That should be the least of my worries!!!

On another note, going back to the issue of when to start buying. I know Jacob had a list, others did as well. My list had M&A activity on it as a key item for bottom-fishing. Unless I missed a key news item, there has been no M&A activity. I've always been fond of LRCX as a takeover/merger candidate. Perhaps instead of M&A, I should also be looking at chapter 11...

The news from Japan continues to be at the top of my list of reasons not to buy AMAT. Morgan went on record saying that Japan is the key to the recovery. Japan continues to impress (depress) me to the downside. Mr. Yen says we've entered into a cycle of deflation over there.

AMAT looks to break-even at $600M/qtr. Japan is $110M last qtr bookings (down 33% from prior qtr); I think it's safe to assume that this number could drop dramatically further in the next quarter. Taiwan is $124M. That's certainly not going to increase madly. It's quite possible that we'll see AMAT with $500M next qtr. Add in aki's $250M charge, and November looks like a shipwreck! My opinion only, of course.
