Dipy:

That actually is a very good point - a 2% yield today becomes a
6% yield based on one's original investment 5 years hence when
the companies hike their dividends consistently and fast.

(I did own that book as well - most excellent book.
Gave it to one of my friends who I thought would be
attracted to the more conservative nature of the stocks.
Of course she then said she'd follow what I did and bought
SVGI and INPR (2 that I had - I still have INPR) and I think she still owns them at 60% and 50% losses. But she did have
a 5 year perspective and so I expect with that type of time
frame she'll do just fine. So I'm not feeling too guilty <g>)

Shane (have a good weekend - I'm outta here!)

Dipy,

Cool. Did Soros lose a bunch of money? He's talking up stability.......how sweet!

I recently bought RC when the stock got so low and the divvy was 17%....then more at 20% divvy! very risky :>......but not so risky when you consider all the banks, and Soros types (is Soros an American? he sounds foreign) who need to keep Latin America up now that Russia went bust on them. RC is a Mexican radio stock. I think the stock will eventually recover to 10.......do you think I'll see my divvy?

If I ever do see it, and the stock recovers to above 10, I'll do a Mexican Hat Dance! <gg>

Talk about WAG investing.........you're probably in shock. <g>
