Paul, Re: "Intel Investors - Compaq will launch 8-way XEON Servers next year using the
new Intel/Corollary chip set and the 64 bit/66 MHz PCI chip sets developed by
Compaq/Dec and now made by Intel (I think)."

I'm pretty sure this is the server which can have up to eight CPU's on one motherboard, vs. four maximum now. Not only that, but the eight CPU server "node", with the one motherboard, will be packaged in a 12.25 inch high X 19 inch rack. The current four way is as tall or taller. So, this can give the customer up to twice the CPU's in an equal or less space compared to what you can get now. I also think the 8 way design Intel got from Corollary (now division of Intel) is 8 way tightly coupled SMP. Not certain here. These 8 ways, especially if they are true SMP, will help Intel further advance their front into the medium and high range server markets.
