I'll bet we could resolve the mismatch problem by making them all black.

Dale I am a dentist. You would not believe the numbers of anterior crowns that are imperfectly matched from day one. Ugly mismatched front teeth from right from the get go. Now I try very hard but sometimes it even happens to me. What about the other guys? Is it because the dentist doesn't care that they cement those obviously mismatched crowns? Maybe, but keep this in mind not only is it difficult to get a proper match on the day the tooth is prepared but it's also difficult to find a dental laboratory that can really match the shade off the guide. There are only 15 shades on the standard Vita Shade Guide. I have been forced to only use a few because the lab I use is only competent with certain shades.

I get good results this way but it's far from perfect. There is definitely a market for such a device but it will have to be sold to both dentists and laboratory technicians. CCSI also has impending competition in this market.

BTW I send the mismatched ones back to the lab to be redone.

Regards, Jeff
