for now we can look for some tell tale signs of shorted bb's one is mm's dropping the bid/ask on all buys at the ask with no selling take the example of infe, one of the most brutally shorted stocks on bb bar none. infe was 43cents by 71 cents bid/ask 120,000 shares of volume infe went to $1.125/1.4135 ask doubled on 120k in volume on 45,000 shares of volume infe went down to 75 cents on ask. how is this possible? another way to tell is with tiny floats trading 400% of the float daily. major volume with no real price movement is another. rare that buys and sells in heavily traded issue balance out so evenly. level 2 seeing where mm's are sitting is tip off guy with a bid and no ask needs shares guy with ask no bid has shares wants no more when one or two mm's have ask of 2.00 rest have asks of $7 tells me volumes as well. seeing a mm who was sitting on the ask with very low bid compared to other mm's then suddenly he has no ask and jumps in front of rest of mm's with high bid, this is a guy who needs shares now. A COVERING MM HAS A HIGH BID AND NO ASK ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS BUY SHARES THAT'S WHAT WE WANT ALL BIDS NO ASKS OR RIDICULOUSLY HIGH ASKS. cav ps please add other tip offs for shorted bb stocks if you have them all input welcome.
