Yeah, me too, then I took it back because any cpu-intensive
action (such as dragging a window) caused MIDI sound breakup.

Check it out. Maybe I screwed up the install. Try playing
a MIDI file and drag a window with "Show Contents While Dragging"
turned on. I'm curious if it's me or them. This is on NT,
BTW.

Not that I care a lot about MIDI sound, but I don't want any
half-baked sound software playing in memory at the root of
the OS. I strongly suspect most of my blue screens are due
to sound drivers, as a matter of fact.
