You answered your question better than I could have. I see the NGIO transition as more like 1394 - both PCI-X and NGIO capabilities will exist for a while (years), until NGIO devices become ubiquitous enough to make the economic argument attractive. NGIO has long term advantages but too many short-term hurdles. CPQ, IBM and HP have a proposal that tells a much better transition story to customers, and I think Intel should jump on the train.
