If you believe it as a general statement, then you fail to understand the essence of representative democracy. The popular will as represented by some temporary majority has, over history, expressed the most idiotic and even tyrannical preferences. Judging peoples motives is almost always difficult , and I rarely do it. I do judge actions- at that's where your sleazy president falls far short.
