Ann-

<<your reference to the duly elected President of the United States of America as "Sleazebag Bill" gives a clue. >>

Wrong again, Ann. Referring to "Sleazebag Bill" indicates only a disapproval of Bill Clinton; it says nothing of my political or philosophical leanings. Guess maybe that distinction is too fine a one for you. People as diverse in their leanings statist "liberals" like Joe Lieberman to editorial staff of The American Spectator have all voiced strong disapproval this president you so strenuously, if unskillfully, defend.

<<As I said earlier, whatever direction the majority of the American people choose to take is fine with me.>>

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this. If you believe it as a general statement, then you fail to understand the essence of representative democracy. In such a system, the popular will is mediated by institutions- we don't act collectively in whatever manner some momentary popular will dictates. The popular will as represented by some temporary majority has, over history, expressed the most idiotic and even tyrannical preferences. If decisions are made solely by popular will, then there are no guaranteed rights, something you may recall was important to those who founded the United States of America.

<<In my opinion, many of those who've shown nothing but hatred for Pres. Clinton here & on other threads are in all probability not even American.>>

Any reason for this claim- or do you come by this kind of claptrap by divine revelation? For the record, by citizenship resides with the USA.

<<Enjoy your elitist ivory tower.....don't get too lonesome way up there above the common folk.>>

Another of your snotty, inane comments. Just to let you know, I know numerous good, unsophisticated salt-of-the-earth "common folk" [your term] who don't go around impugning other peoples motives when they have no evidence to do so. Judging peoples motives is almost always difficult , and I rarely do it. I do judge actions- at that's where your sleazy president falls far short. As for me being in some "ivory tower", well I wish it were so. But I would say that I have a brain and I try to use it. Do you honestly believe you can make the same claim?
