Oh I was just yapping just to hear myself speak, thread being so quiet of late. And now some more... I had bought this thing for my wife--hoping it might get her interested in stocks etc. The company is just a few blocks from her office, thought she might take up some interest, investigate a little etc. But, between the immediate 20% loss, and her lack of interest, tgen got dropped and eventually replaced with a fund for her account. But now with the recommendation (I've learned the hard way that some sort of institutional support is important in walking the price up again!) and so perhaps now a bottom to the price, I was thinking of repurchasing the shares for myself. Hoping to get a little discussion going over the weekend before I dive back in however--the company should have about 10M left to carry it through the end of the year, but unless they are bought out maybe they will have to raise some cash in a way that will dilute the stock? Anybody have an opinion on that-- are there any milestone payments coming up that might extend the life of the "burn", as they say. I haven't too many thoughts on the stock other than the market cap seems ridiculous for a company with a handful of trials, propriatary tech, and patents. Certainly statments like these sound pretty interesting--even to a mere spectator to the industry like myself: From the CTL press release-- "While these patients had failed traditional and experimental therapies, including interferon alpha, adefovir, and lamivudine, REM was capable of generating CTLs that specifically recognized HBV core proteins" and from the LPD press release "This represents an approach that we and many of our competitors acknowledge as the next logical step in lipid mediated nucleic acid delivery. This patent and numerous others that are issued or pending have allowed the Company to amass a formidable intellectual property position in the gene and cell therapy arena." We haven't heard about AAV lately, did all the monkeys get bronchitis or something? Any rumors? To borrow something from another thread--what are the odds against this strategy, this vector, being the holy grail of gene delivery? I pretty much just throw darts in this biotech stock game, figuring that this will be the hot industry for the next few decades--and with the market down, this is a good time to be throwing darts, at least it is a cheaper game now that it was. Anyway, if there is anybody left on the thread besides Ted and me, here is a link to a document which lists some cheap biotechs stocks, you may have seen it posted on a few of the other threads.lehman.com I ended up picking up some ctic and hysq for myself, I tried to trade incy over the last few weeks, broke even, and now I've simply parked that money in Hyseq. So many targets for darts in this completely beaten down sector of the market, but I only have enough cash to chase a few of them. --MM
