Maybe you are not thinking about the "cost" in the right way. Even if you only did 3 or 4 trades in a month, MBT (which I use; can't speak for others) will most likely be cost effective for this reason:
On each trade that you do, you are more likely to make more money each way because of the speed of execution. Just say you execute 1/16 sooner than you would have with a discount online broker. You've more than covered the cost of the trade right there, and with enough trades, you then get your LevelII feed gratis.

Bruce, you say costs have kept you from CyberBroker and MBT. Have you inquired with both firms about their costs? If so, have you compared those costs with what your "discount" broker is charging you? And, if so, have you considered whether either MBT or CT would offer you anything that you want and that you cannot get from your present discount broker? You need to analyze these things and make a comparison and do what's best for you in your particular situation.

You mention you have a poor ISP and that "time is money." Well, if you're asking me for advice, I would say get rid of your poor ISP and find a better one. You mention making 3-4 trades a day. That is, imho, a very respectable amount of trading. You only do the trades that suit you. If you find four trades each day that fit your personal criteria, and if you make enough from those trades to suit your personal goals, well....what's the problem? Just keep doing it and, if you like, try to do things or find ways to improve your performance. For example, you might find a better ISP and/or a better broker.

I don't know how long you've been trading or what type experience you have, nor do I know your financial goals. Let me just say that many traders use MB Trading and make a lot of money. You need to determine if that type of trading is for you. If you have not yet spoken with representatives at MBT or CT, then you certainly need to do that before you do anything else. Discuss with them your experience, your goals and objectives, let them tell you what you want to know.

Good luck,

Bill
