All,

I prefer the loud heavy and tactile beige IBM 102 Key model myself. They make a quieter version which is far less tactile as well. not familar with the black ones. The Northgate OmniKey was another nice keyboard but no longer made. Surplus direct has the "good" IBM keyboards for $29.95. A Steal! Others I'm sure will disagree. Keyboards are highly personal.

Clarence

Is that the 104 key rubber dome model?

I"m not sure what model Street Walker just bought but I just picked up the black 104 key rubber dome model - KB 109 for $39 at Comp USA and I like it !
And I just found a place that sells a black Microsoft mouse

Yes, Clarence its the IBM 104 Keyboard Model KB 109.
It has rubber dome technology, but I don't know exactly what
that means. When I type it is very
tactile and noisy. Feels just like their old
type writers which I really liked.
Black with white lettering
sure is nice.

I'm a once upon a time piano player and the feel
of the keys is very important to me. I hate
playing synthsizers cause there is very little
sensation between finger and key.

I am very satisified with this. Part of the tactile
nature of the IBM is that it uses metal underneath
the keys. Cheaper brands use plastic.

I paid the extra $10 for the black over the beige version.
I think it is worth it. The black is very contrasting, and
gives me a change of color after all these years.

I may even paint my monitor case and mouse black to match
it, and to give more contrast to my monitors for viewing.
This is the reason TV cases are black. Why not monitors?

And yes, I have fallen in love with my Kensington Mouse in a
box Srcolling mouse. It is a larger mouse made for a man's
hands.
