Sure, INTC could buy SMTC. But I think we might see another analog company buy SMTC first. Perhaps TXN. Regardless, one thing I see happening over the next year or two is consolidation of the undervalued small companies in this market. If big players identify smaller companies as attractive additions, they are rather likely to bite, especially given the divergent valuations.
