Hi there Chip,

I missed that article from Tom as I have been trading and not keeping up to date with his site as I should. Basically if Tom says it, I would take it pretty much as gospel. For all us hardware hobbyists, Tom and Anand Shimpi are our leading lights and they are both switched on and current.

I have not seen the G200 so I cannot comment but I do know that V 2 in SLI is at this moment where it is at. That coupled with a top 2d card is the best there is and I understand that this will remain so for a while.

Two issues that have been highlighted are the obvious high cost of running two V 2 cards and the fact that maybe the company shot themselves in the foot a little in their release timing because Voodoo itself is so good that even those that maybe could afford to buy V 2 are sticking with Voodoo for a while until the next round of games come out that are specifically written to take advantage of the awesome power of V2.

I do not believe the companies products are in question here at all. They are the best. It is rather the cost element which presently negates the possibility of the Dell's of the world including V 2 as standard issue. This I am told by others on the thread is being addressed. Coupled together with the Banshee product line IMO they will come back big time.

Of course we all know that this industry is very difficult to predict since new products are coming out on a weekly basis. Most would agree that 3D is the future of computing for the next couple of years and more. TDFX in that light should be a good medium to long term investment. IMO
