<OT> Yes it is likely one major reason their website is slow. Also, try finding any information using their "propriority search engine" - those times I have needed some information I have usually ended up asking other people where to find it - their search engine is notorious for giving irrelevant links.

Why MSFT didn't go the UNIX route? I though that would be obvious. They actually did - they were heavily involved in SCO UNIX back in the early eighties, but realized that they couldn't obtain a monopoly in that market - thus the dropped SCO and spent their money on Windows.

So far, one must say it's going well. As long as there is incompetent IT management ready to belive the MS hype (which I must agree they are very very good at) they will prosper. They promise and promise, showing demo's that look brilliant, and time after time it is proved once the systems are installed they don't live up to expectations. Granted, MS systems *are* improving. But who is paying for the improvements? Those suckers who pay out big bucks to have alpha and beta software running on their production systems. Sooner or later I hope IT management worldwide wake up and realize they are being taken advantage of.

More to the topic: I have finally moved my account out of Datek. Now trading with MBTrading - and wow, what a difference. But those interested in that can come join the MBTrading thread (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/subject.aspx?subjectid=19037). You will notice the absence of posts similar to 90% of posts in the Datek threads (complains).

<OT> forgot this link: gcn.com -
It's an interesting article about NT's "shortcomings" from government news July 13: "Software Glitches Leave Navy Smart Ship Dead In The Water".
Enjoy ;-)
