Jeff,

I listened to the Benson recorded message. I took it more as a rally call. While he said a merger won't happen and not to count on it, I took it more as a statement to employees not to slack off hoping that someone else will save the bacon. I'm not sure it says anything about whether CS executives (who after all are huge shareholders) would or would not be receptive to an appropriate offer at the right price. Anyway, thanks again for posting the phone number.

Best,
Gary Korn

J Bertrand:

I think you are reading too much into the voice mail.

First off, this is an internal message intended to keep internal employees focused and motivated. So, it doesn't have to be "organized" or "polished" like a press announcement. You said it wasn't passionate - I thought on the contrary. The little bit of "rawness" makes his speech sounds more genuine and sincere to me.

As for the guy who missed his baby's birth... It was a positive to me because it showed how committed the employees are in meeting the company's objectives. If the guy decided to make a personal scarifice to help the whole team out, it is the guy's own judgement and who are we to judge? Benson did what a good leader should do - recognize the employee's contribution and give credit where it is due.

I don't see anything wrong with him not disclosing the quarter's numbers neither. Every company have different policies on this. Certain things are better left unsaid until finalized and official. Bension not disclosing the info at this point doesn't mean that he doesn't know where things are himself.

Benson saying CS will not be bought is another example on how the guy is focused on keep his work force on track.

For one, the voice message shows that Bension is providing good leadership by addressing the employees "heart-to-heart" on a regular basis. At times like this, having a pumped-up work force makes the whole difference.

Finally, the phone number was obviously leaked by someone who works for CS. In my opinion, this person should be tracked down and reprimanded for leaking internal phone number and info to the public internet.

Bertrand: There is no way to let CS management to
accept price offer at this point. CS is currently
traded at $8. Someone (ie. LU) make CS a big favor
say, offering $12, which is 50% premium of today's
price. However, if you check its maketcap carefully,
CS only worth less than 2B with $12. It is very undervalue.
In this case, CS management sells company in discount
plus owns LU a big favor. I think CS should appreciate
to around $14 by itself, and accepts offer price at
around $18-$20 which is 30% premium of $14. FORE and
COMS are doing that now, They have already appreciated
their shares by more than 30% so far. Good luck, Hold
your networking stocks such as CS, COMS, and FORE. They
will do good rest of this year. I don't own FORE because
it still belongs to single product company (ATM).

Michael

J.B: Many of the Analysts felt Networking stocks like ASND,FORE and CS
moved up this week due to take over rumors.

Previous posts indicated that we were moving on our own steam as we were were on track in meeting estimates.

Does anyone know why we moved.?
