As to exploding batteries!

In recent years there have been several highly publicized explosions involving Lithium - Ion batteries. On all of these occasions, the manufacturers of those batteries have said that the problems have been corrected. The li-Ion batteries are our only serious competitor.
It is in the nature of the beast that what is bad for lithium -ion is good for NiMH. Therefore good for ECD.
I haven't heard of explosions concerning NiMH. It is likely that the fear of computer explosions on airlines as presently being investigated by the FAA, involves Li-Ion. This is pure speculation.
