Dear John, I have a good friend in high places@ Union Pacific near here in Omaha.Several months ago, I inquired re switching and his comment was they could switch manually but that it would be a labor intensive and much slower alternative--so much so that he thought that rail capacity would be reduced by 40 to 60%-- specifically in areas like the gulf-coast where trains are scheduled on 15-minute intervals. His other concerns included having typically a maximum of 7 days of diesel(under full load conditions) in most major refueling areas and that many sat offices have done a terrible job of maintaining/keeping source-codes for programs that they have independently instituted over the last years. As a consequence, they just don't know what might be lingering for them out in these offices. best, dennis reed
