Another articulate and cogent post, thank you for your thoughts. The futures markets, by nature, is the remnant of the old west. The regulatory body is the CFTC, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and not the SEC.

The futures markets deal only in a hypothetical and speculative future price and not real time prices and, for this reason alone, there are no regulations against insider trading. No one has the inside track on the future. Everything is fair game.
