actually i don't see things as grim at all...just the free markets doing what comes naturally...

all things being equal of course....

the problems everywhere will eventually be taken care of..countries are begining to wake up to reality...they'll pull thru...

a recession will almost always wring out the excesses in the marketplace and then we come back stronger than ever,,

it happened here from the 87 crash, thru 91-92...everything was out of sight price wise...all of it came crashing down to earth...

i think world wide recession in 1/3 of the countries is obviously not good, but it's not bad either...slowing our economy down a bit won't hurt IMO...it will be short lived into late 99ish or so...

high interest rates and large amounts of inflation do serious damage to everyone...that's NOT the case today...

the G-7 and world leaders are all trying to stabilize these problem countries...it will happen...slowly, but surely.....

all in all a very nice environment for stocks...very nice....

It started when the tiger economies lost their bite. Then came meltdown in Moscow. Now western markets are sliding. Will a 1930s-style slump be next?
