Steve,

I've been there before. Reboot and when the password request comes up, enter your username only (the name used when you first installed WIN95), then click OK. After bootup, go into Control Panel/Passwords, under the User Profiles make sure the "All users of this PC..." is selected. Then under the Change Password tab click on Change Windows Password. Again, enter only your user name and click OK. Restart your computer and everything should be back to normal. This method worked for me when I allowed Netscape's SmartUpdate to upgrade my version of Communicator causing me the same problem. I don't know if this will work with MSIE, but it won't hurt to try it.
