Thread,

I just came back from vacation: 10 days and ~2400 posts, mostly about the menage-a-trois Monika-Bill-Starr. If that is what I wanted to know about, I'd turn on the TV or read the paper, not come to the SI main DELL thread. I am deleting the bookmark to this thread. If/when it gets back to DELL, the putative subject, someone please let me know.

My very heartfelt Thanks to all on the thread who have provided me excellent counsel, advice, and shared their knowledge over the past 1 1/2 years.

Best regards, still DELLish, 3.

Chris,

MEA CULPA

I am guilty of polluting the DELL thread with Slickster sleaze. I will try to control that base instinct which drives me to post about this unfortunate matter.

I will in future try to limit my verbal emissions on this subject to the threads that are dedicted to it and avoid the lovely blue dress that is the Dell thread. VBG

Chris,
-OT-

We ARE making progress here. Many posters with"OFF TOPIC" messages, comments, diatribes, etc, are beginning to use " OT " at the top of messages. It takes time to discipline onself to visit appropriate boards because there are chummy sub groups and cliques that evolve to the level of chat rooms. And, especially with this Clinton perjury thing, it is really hard to contain ones emotions when some on the way left or far right spouts nonsense.

Eventually, with very busy boards, IMO, more people such as yourself will call for some discipline in postings. I think it is kind of like a township growing to a metropolis. What is growth without discipline?

So long as the "OT" is there and the messages don't go over a screen, IMO, we have a satisfice solution. Under the circumstances, I don't think one can expect more. I am sure that after all the hotheads have spewed from left and right this weekend, the Clinton/Perjury topic will fade from the DELL board.

Good Fortune.
