The article Gerry is referring to describes a speech Nicholas Negroponte gave in May of this year. The url is: cnn.com

The last part refers to paying small sums of money to access articles on the web. The article also references the possible increase in e-commerce once payments are more secure.

Gerry,

I believe it was I who posted that article. I did it for information purposes. I have no idea of the validity of any information in the article. It is simply one more tea leaf -- although I thought the part of Negroponte talking about wave at an oracle users group says that things are moving closer to "real" publication.

I never claim to know anything for sure. I was, however, for 7 years vp of Krell Software, now defunct (a founder of the SPA), but have not been involved with that org for 5-6 years. I helped market some of the first logo and SAT prep software. I have also been a public school administrator, and currently teach intro computer and ecommerce courses at a large university in NY. I'm writing this so people can know where I'm coming from and the experience that shape how I react to slowly leaked business information, the constraint on organizations and employees, and the fact that too often TTT things take time. We would all like some statement of your background in order to determine the usefulness of your ideas. If you're right about tomorrow -- I for one could have made the same guess that something was about to happen. That's why I put in a few bucks in August, added more last week -- and hope the announcements hold off so I can up my ante in the near future.

Sorry for the length
