BB, FWIW, Bob Brinker just talked about Robertson Stevens and one of its mutual funds, Value Plus Growth, I think. Anyway, it's a fund run by Ron Elijah. Said Elijah had lightened tech holdings from 40% down to 13 or 17% from start of year to recently. Lately, he has gone bullish on techs again and adding to holdings, especially semis Intel, Micron Technology, TXN and AMAT.

Every little bit helps.

Tony

p.s., FWIW again, Brinker is very bullish still, looking for new highs on DOW, S&P500 and NAZ in 1999.

BB,

Funny you should post that. This is what I have been using for my 7250 target, and why I think we won't be possibly out of the woods until 10/27. If these technical indicators breakdown, I shift to fundamental 6400 downside using 400x16. I doubt the whole thing takes longer than 5 months.

Holding above 7250 is very important, unless you want dramatically lower prices. This is why I was ecstatic with the Thursday night pr. The market was positioned perfectly to break hard through previous lows. A hard break on a Friday any of these next few weeks can easily lead to a panic. Even holding 6400 could seem high to mortified traders, but it does provide an appropriate fundamental value to the market.

The financials getting buried is very similar to 1990 also.

The small caps are stabilizing a bit. As you know, when they start outperforming in a big way, we are very close to the turn.

Montgomery Investment Conference is this week. This will also provide short term stability, usually.

thanks for posting those charts.

All,
Nice site with sector analysis and very good market average charting
analysis. Pay attention to the 50 day and 200 day moving average
confluences, where they cross indicates market direction momentum
change.
