I also expect next weeks trading to be very volatile. IMO more biased down
than up with the big Friday gains. Don't forget ORCL was at 19 a week ago.
I also expect some profit taking , selling on the news, and a lot of pissed off
shorts who got squeezed Friday to reestablish their short positions in full
force. That coupled with profit taking could easily push ORCL down to the
20-21 range by next Friday, which is also options expiration. I am selling
my shares Monday morning and will hopefully buy back in Thursday or Friday
at a bargain price. I expect ORCL to pop up again nicely starting the Monday
of Sept. 21. when all the options games will not effect ORCL'S price so greatly.

MIKE

Michelle - Oracle does not count someone who upgrades from a previous version to a new verison as part of license growth unless they increase the # of users.

someone who bought oracle 7.3 pays a stiff percentage of the orignial cost every year not just for support but the right to upgrade to future versions. This was true with oracle 6/7/8 and im assuming it will be true with 8i.

I'll agree that I'd like to see 20%...but I don't see that kind of growth as being viable from many sources - right now, in particular.
I look for small, solid gains in ANY area, and services are as good as any.
In addition, if ORCL's earnings were boosted by cost cutting, then I'm DEFINITELY on board for the long haul.
