The problem with this little titbit of illogic is that the American public is not a court of law. It is incumbent upon the American public to use common sense when they are lied to flatly and repeatedly and then receive utter proof they have been lied to. The American public now has an extraordinary amount of incontrovertible evidence to pass judgement. By common sense I have already passed judgement, and my judgement tells me that Mr. Clinton has lied to me and to the courts. Therefore, though I will forgive him as a private citizen (and encourage him to seek counseling), logic compels me toward the conclusion Mr. Clinton is unworthy of my trust as leader of the nation.
