Oilex stock was never worth 20 dollars. Your point? Oilex produced almost 20,000 barrels of oil in 1997 working at perhaps 10% capacity. That doesn't excuse mismanagement of the fields because between 1996 and 1998 any good manager could have been producing 5 times as much oil by mid-1998. And there would never have been a need for the debentures. The fault of the situation lies directly with management or the lack of it in the fields.
