Yes Sergio,PSIX is committed to this in big way<
PSINet (NASDAQ: PSIX), one of the largest commercial Internet service providers
(ISPs), estimates that it can save its business customers as much as 80% on
telecommunications-related expenses by switching corporate voice communications to
IP networks.>--and I should stress to those wondering about the market that PSIX is after,it is the corporate market--where as a company like MSPG is geared to the individual consumers market.
When one looks at the eps of PSIX one must realize they are in
the midst of building their network--they are in the money spending phase---but I am becoming a timing investor so I remain out of PSIX
until I think the time is right. Buena Suerte,Max

VoIP - Voice over IP. Different than voice over the Internet.

Most likely revenues are from fax and other non real time traffic, termination of international traffic from overseas carriers, and transport of IP voice over wide area private (corporate) intranets. Other than that there's a very mixed bag of research on whether people will buy voice services over the Internet as an alternative to 10 cents per minute high quality voice, a price that is still continuing to drop. There's nothing real compelling on this last one, but true and substantial savings available on the first applications I mentioned.
