Doug, I searched for win386.swp on my PC and found it. 43MB large
and has been updated a couple of hours ago. I have no idea what it is,
but I wouldn't touch it, because it has just recently been used.
No, it can't be a virus because my virus program would have identified it.

I checked in the Windows help file. It is probably a file used
to provide virtual memory. Delete something else.<g>
Don't you have some seldom used files that could be compressed (zipped)?
