Mark, It's the same thing we discussed before, God acts for the good of the people. In some cases in the bible, he instructs people what to do in order to keep society safe and operating smoothly. Yes, sometimes he doesn't have much to work with because people screw things up so bad, to rectify them, it takes great measures. But always remember, if God tells us to do something, it is for the good of society. Gods ways and thoughts are high above ours! So we should not judge why, but be thankful it does get involved to save us from ourselves. God Bless, Steve PS- You are trying to apply your values and principles to a holy, perfect God.
