Well, I suspect the people at the blackplague site were just being ironic, Del. However, since I believe that two wrongs do not make a right, and in nonviolence as well, I would agree that their language should have been softer. I do think we have slightly different interpretations of "virus" in conjunction with religion. I was most struck with how Christianity spread throughout the Mediterranean in a pattern that is similar to the way viruses replicate. And I disagree with you about there ever being a time on earth where people will be rational rather than religious. I think there is something inherent in the nature of most people which makes them crave religion. We can see that in the New Agers who reject traditional religious beliefs but simply replace them with different belief systems still dependent upon idolatry and mysticism. I just hope there is a prophet who comes along and gets everyone's attention, who also believes in environmentalism, before it is too late.
