We probably have the most intelligent man ever in the office of the Presidency, and certainly an able executive and CEO of our nation and we have supported a Congress that has done everything possible to hamstring the potential of this President to conduct his job, as the Constitution provides us a President for a reason. What is the correct thing to do; kick out all the dirty politics Republican's. Clean House and Senate and get people in there that will do campaign finance reform and do what is in the country's best interest, not their own out of favor and minority political interests. If the Republican's do get more power, the American people don't like the issues they stand for. They will get kicked out fast; if not this November; in two years when people are revulsed by the religious right dictating policy, etc. They blew it after the 1994 win, they will continue to blow it, because a majority of the American people don't like where the Republican's want to go on the issues. Let's see how happy people are about all of this when they realize that the Republican's have done nothing the people want done by Congress. Just wait for the Baby Boomers to retire and health insurance issues dominate voting behavior. The Republican's used to say the the liberal press (isn't that a joke; listen to Sam Donaldson any day of the week) and that if they could just get their message out. Well, they got there message out and people didn't like what they heard. Lott making a fool of himself because of the religious right putting a gun to his head with threats to bolt the party in Nov. and his pathetic linking of gays with cleptomanics; stupid beyond believe. I'm not pro-gay, but they can't change; it's biological. That has been shown very clearly. I don't have any problems with family being reserved for heterosexuals, but you don't deny people an ability to earn a living because you don't approve of their sexual preferences. We have enough people in jail; we want to fill the prison's with every groups we don't approve of? That seems to be the Republican argument. Governor Allen in VA; build tons of prisons; and let's fill them up! What a waste of money.
