Perhaps they just don't understand the extent to which having a personal life that is not squeaky clean can be politically damaging in this country. "Why would they think Ken Starr is the pervert?" Perhaps they believe in a right to privacy. I think we need to bear in mind, also, that this couple can only speak about the opinions they themselves have seen and heard. That's the trouble with "man-in-the-street" interviews. The statistical sample is just too small. While they may give some insights, they are no substitute for scientifically sound polls, carefully constructed to remove bias from the questions and the sampling process. "Give me a break." Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to deal with people who have opposing points of view on a subject as important as this. I am doing my best to remain civil about this, and I know you are, too.
