John, BillyG, That paragraph is a real teaser isn't it! It hints at things even bigger than the DIVI LABC announcement. Which is big enough,t hat anouncement by DIVI closed with....... As part of the agreement, DiviCom and DIRECTV will work to integrate DiviCom products into the DIRECTV signal processing system. DiviCom plans to undertake substantial software and system developments to ensure that DIRECTV can leverage DiviCom's acclaimed video quality and efficiency. Not wanting to be disappointed I decided that DIVI's work is primarily head-end compression work, but may include some set-top spec work also, but we'll have to watch this closely. Anyone out there have friends at DirecTV who could check this out? The news coverage of this years IBC is excellent and it would be nice if they would do the same thing for NAB. CUBE/DIVI have made their presence felt this year with a substantial showing. From reading the site there wouldn't be a huge need for DIVI/JVC to rush the MV40-HD as Europe isn't interested to start HD, but want to watch it unfold in the US. DIVI may have filled a small gap at IBC...Getting closer to complete solutions. Adherent Announces Real Time Monitoring OEM deal with DiviCom at IBC 98 Cambridge, England. Adherent Systems today announced the signing of a major new OEM deal to supply the US encoder manufacturer DiviCom with real time digital video monitoring technology. The deal signed at IBC will enable the functionality of Adherent's award winning SV970 Stream View multi stream real time monitor to be integrated with the DiviCom THESYSTM network management system. THESYS provides complete digital video facility management in conjunction with DiviCom MPEG-2 compression systems. Commenting on the agreement, Ian Valentine Adherent's MD said " The strategic partnership with DiviCom will greatly compliment our global sales channel and provide a complete system solution for broadcasters. The combination of DiviCom's compression technology and Adherent's proven measurement capability provides broadcasters with optimum bandwidth utilisation and picture decodability." He continued "This is an industry first, we believe it's an important partnership for Adherent." With the rollout of digital satellite, cable and terrestrial tv throughout Europe and the rest of the world the ability to check transmissions for decodability by the subscriber is critically important to broadcasters. The better use of bandwidth enabled by digital TV and the implied massive growth in the number of channels and associated consumer choice will mean that automated monitoring for quality assurance will become mandatory. The technology supplied to DiviCom by Adherent will facilitate this automation. FredE, I'm starting to think that we will see some of that top line growth, that you posted was critical to getting the stock price moving in the right direction. Are you putting any of your clients into the CUBE now?
