Staying away from high premium puts for the weekend looks good so far, and your methodology for reentry seems right. The easiest thing is just wait for the break of 980 area and bring in the artillery when it does.

Well, we've passed 1026 and reached 1031. A very strong opening.
Next resistance is the top of the parallelogram around 1045.
