Shareholder Class Action Lawsuits Against Western Digital Are Dismissed
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC - news) today announced that U.S. District Court Judge Stephen Wilson has dismissed with prejudice the eight class action lawsuits filed against the Company between December 2, 1997 and February 24, 1998. The judge's action precludes the plaintiffs from refiling their claims.

Chuck Haggerty, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Western Digital, said: ''The judge found that there was no factual basis for the speculative allegations made in the 122-page consolidated amendment complaint. The result is a tribute to Western Digital's policy of timely and accurate disclosure to our shareholders. We are gratified by the dismissal.''
