Jon,

Well first of all, as I'm sure you're aware, a reduction from 0.5% to 0.25% is in fact a 50% reduction, albeit from a very low rate. Seems they have their backs to the wall in this regard. Along the same vein then, what makes people think that a reduction from a fed rate of 5.5% to 5% or 4.5% will be enough to reinvigorate those economic juices if we start to slow dramatically along with everybody else?
