GZ,

I think so but it could go either way. Tommaso's post and references to zippergate and Japan does give one pause. But like you say, nothing new except over 2 billion increase in net mutual fund flows from prior week to last week. And that happened during the worst of it all.

Just waiting for a solid signal... may get it in a day or two.

GZ,

I believe these markets are looking about nine months ahead. I suspect things will be much improved by then..

i'd love to agree but i can't. In our industry (capital goods) we've been seeing rapidly falling order intake for 3 month now. We havn't had that for a couple of years. People are starting to be more cautious with their money. I feel earnings for the next 2 or three quarters will have some downside surprise.
In addition to that, the dollar and the recent weakness against European currencies worries me. Short term it might help some large US companies, longer term it'll have a negative impact on the world economy. With the yen in the gutter, a weak US$ and a dying DM, where the heck is the save haven ?
