Charles: On the subject of "Application Servers" the following may be of some use: wideman-one.com ... and visit the links for: -- Web Data Access Models -- Oracle Client Deployment Models App servers can get considerably more exotic, but it's an attempt at distinguishing them from several other architectures. FWIW, I'd like to see a similar diagram clarifying how transactions servers fit together. Anyone? Graham
