Dear Mark;

I hope all is well with you. Yeshua very clearly condemned slavery in the following summation of the Law of God.

Mat 22: 36 - 40
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? 37 And He said to him, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND." 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, "*YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.

You must remember that at many times in history and in many life situations, Slavery was preferable to starvation. The Jewish people had a long history of treating slaves or servants humanly and many choose to remain with their masters after they had earned freedom. I do not wish to defend slavery. We must keep in mind that events and cultures from long ago do not necassarily fit into our present mind set. It is clear that Yeshua and the Father taught the Golden Rule which would not allow forced slavery. God has always given man the liberty, and resposibility of his own choice. I pray that you will look at that freedom and choose wisely.

In Yeshua's love for you - Your friend DLL
