Sean, no offense...and I'm not bashing anyone... but didn't I read someone said your (name a single relative or friend of your choice, Sean) was a whore?

Again, I'M NOT BASHING! JUST POSTING WHAT I HEARD!

Guess what...if you put the word "Mom" in my example... I would predict this would anger you. (it would probably anger me if done to me in a public forum)

Maybe you'll think twice about how you post defamatory remarks in the future after seeing my alternative viewpoint.

No one likes to read allegations that cannot be based on facts.

In fact, look what ITEX is doing.... be very wary how you post in the future.

Unlike Yahoo where you could remain anonymous, SI keeps your records.

Firm files suit against Yahoo! Finance users

By Matthew Broersma, ZDNet

A trading and financial services company has filed suit against 100 users who posted messages on Yahoo! Finance, claiming the anonymous users made false
statements designed to hurt the company's stock price.

Itex Corp. (Nasdaq:ITEX), a publicly-traded Portland, Ore. Company, named 100 "John Does" in its suit, filed this week in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

The case raises questions about how far users should be able to go in exercising one of the key features of the online world -- anonymous communication. "The First
Amendment covers many different kinds of speech, but it doesn't protect the kind of speech that's the subject of these claims," said Stephen Pearson, a member of
Itex's legal team. "In that sense, it's not a privacy issue ... if you're making defamatory comments, that's always been actionable in the U.S."

In its suit, Itex charges such users as "colojopa" and "Investor 727" with unlawful trade practices, civil conspiracy and defamation.

Yahoo! info isn't verified
Earlier this year, scores of messages critical of Itex appeared on the message boards of Yahoo! Finance. The site operates unmoderated discussion groups for
investors to talk about the companies they're interested in, or anything else on their minds.

In May, for example, a user with the screen name "Orangemuscat" charged that Itex's "current management is blind, stupid and incompetent."

Itex plans to use the suit to help discover the identities of those posting the messages, but because of the anonymous nature of the forums and the Internet, it's
unclear how far they will be able to get.

Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO) representatives said that even if they are required to hand over registration information about the users named in the lawsuit, all the
background data they have is provided by the users themselves, and is not verified.

In its terms of service, Yahoo!, based in Santa Clara, Calif., disclaims responsibility for the messages users post on its site.

Has it hit you yet?

I'd hate to see lawsuits arise without the facts.
