Hello Mr. Babb:
Welcome back safely. I believe many companies have a policy that prohibits short selling against employee options. It also opens all sorts of questions about insider trading. This goes at the managerial and executive level anyway, whether reportable transactions through 144K (?) filings or not. I have seen a few of the forms and they usually indicate that one cannot pledge the stock option in any way.
