The truth is a terrible thing to waste.

It starts with long winded defenses of the 'thread' morality/dream and moves to terse and nasty responses. This is often followed by attacks and derogatory comments which try to show the 'questioner' up as an unpatriotic idiot. If the 'questioner' is not driven off with this kind of response, then he will be attacked by three or four posters at time. Finally someone will bring up the fact that the individual 'questioner' is obviously a Shorter. An evil person trying to make it rich on their backs. The only way of dealing with a 'SHORTER', is to have him driven from the thread. This is when the 'SI' boogey man is raised and people are openly threatened.

Perhaps you can document a case of this and post the links here. I think it would be a helpful case study to examine how social control is employed on SI and how it might ultimately lead to police action on the part of SI administration. The truth is a terrible thing to waste.

m. n. muench, Your post is continuing to be a great source of inspiration. I'm going to spend some more time thinking about. In the mean time I do have two questions.

What are the various terms for someone who dishonestly hypes or tout a stock on a thread?

What are the various terms for someone who dishonestly tries to get people to go short or sell.

Also, Thank you for the PM showing examples.
