ERNST & YOUNG ON ESSENTIAL INFRASTRUCTURE ISSUES The Government recognises that the millennium date change poses a risk to the essential infrastructure services upon which the nation's citizens and businesses depend. As a first step in the process of addressing this risk and ensuring that there is no material disruption to essential public services Ernst & Young were asked to undertake a short exercise to identify the main processes which make up the country's essential services infrastructure, the interdependencies between the processes, and the potential outcomes of process failures.
